The second biggest show of the year not having anywhere close to a full card until the week of is sadly normal for SummerSlam, with as few as 4 matches being announced for events 7 days before the show would air live. WWE has now doubled this count, though the rush and cram speak to their slipshod booking practices in 2020.

More egregious was the lack of an officially announced event. The spiralling cases in Florida increasing mixed with the desire to leave the Performance Centre have made this harder in fairness, but it wasn't comforting to not know where the show’s going to be less than a fortnight before showdate, and wonder if the performers are going to be safe in a less secured environment.

The Amway Center in Orlando has now been confirmed, though there was talk of a beach somewhere to make it stand out, Atlantic City, and more. Increasingly, it feels like WWE threw this idea together at the very last second, making for a potential production nightmare come Sunday night.
