Randy Orton is a great professional wrestler, he’s had an amazing 2020. Right now, his heel run is looking like the best success story that WWE creative have to offer this year, with everything since his initial turn on Edge being impossible to look away from.

When Orton is motivated and passionate, there are few better at making traditional WWE style matches exciting and emotionally invigorating.

When he doesn’t care, he’s one of the most boring workers in the world.

That’s the main question going into his side of the match, does he respect a man like Drew the way he does Edge? Will he put in full effort for a match that’s not promoted to such lofty degrees like the one at Backlash, or for a feud that doesn’t really have a gigantic angle behind it? He didn’t put in any effort for Kofi Kingston last year despite their 10 years of history building up to it, having a notorious SummerSlam disappointment with him, so what’s the likelihood he will for Drew?

Hopefully Orton will continue his amazing run of form as a character and a worker, and ensure that the main event is a well-received and well-told success. But until we know for sure, the doubts are there.
