It's been a strange year - and that has been reflected in WWE programming.

One that started off like any other, it soon saw the Showcase of Immortals emanate from an empty Performance Center, the introduction of cinematic matches, and the arrival of the innovative ThunderDome. But now WWE bids farewell to the most unusual year in its history in the same way that it has with every other this past decade: with some good old-fashioned tables, ladders and chairs.

The final PPV of 2020 - and the 12th-annual of its kind - WWE TLC will see SmackDown's Roman Reigns defend his Universal Championship against Kevin Owens and Raw's Drew McIntyre defend his WWE Title against AJ Styles in the evening's two Tables, Ladders and Chairs matches. Meanwhile, Sasha Banks will defend her SmackDown Women's Championship against new challenger Carmella, and old rivals Randy Orton and Bray Wyatt will collide once more as 'The Viper' battles 'The Fiend' for the first time.

WWE has found innovative ways to make a challenging year work but not everything they've tackled has been a success. On paper, TLC should continue the company's recent trend of pulling off solid PPVs (particularly because it's got two potentially great main events), but in reality, we have concerns...

10. Lack Of Blue

Looking at the TLC match card, it's clear that there is a lack of representation on the SmackDown side of things. As it currently stand, there are four matches from Raw set to take place on the PPV and only two from the blue brand.

Of course, things could very well change before the event begins (we all know how they love to add a Kick-Off match or two just prior to the event) but that doesn't change the fact that we've spent most of the build towards TLC without much to get excited about on the SmackDown side of things.

It's rather telling that WWE is apparently more invested in Raw when the feedback from the fans once again makes it clear that SmackDown is currently in a different league. Again, it could all turn around when the blue brand adds some more matches from its end on the go-home edition, but that comes with its own set of problems...
