10 Big Improvements AEW MUST Make Before All Out
1. Healthcare For Everyone
This is the big one.
If AEW truly want to "change the universe," taking this one big, benevolent step that WWE have never been able to make is critical. This is how they'll justify their reputation as the babyface promotion; not by delivering subjectively superior matches and storylines to the competition.
John Oliver's public skewering of WWE's lack of employee healthcare (and other gross business practices) brought the issue back to the forefront in April. AEW President Tony Khan was asked about the matter in January, claiming that a "healthcare package could be available," and he has remained sheepish since then, refusing to commit, either way, to the topic.
Cody, meanwhile, has claimed that he and the Jackson brothers want to "push to a place where there is some sort of governing body that helps protect the current generation but also older veterans that will soon be retiring." One would assume that "protecting" said wrestlers would involve a healthcare deal, though the company are yet to act.
The light road schedule AEW plan on operating when TV starts assuages many concerns regarding wrestlers health. It isn't enough, though. Its time for the business to start looking after those whose bodies it grinds to dust.
