10 Big Improvements AEW MUST Make Before All Out

2. Reheat The Hangman

Hangman Page Chris Jericho

All Out's main event is colder than penguin sh*t at the moment. That's a huge, huge problem, and much of the damage was done at Fight for the Fallen.

Going 50/50 with midcarder Kip Sabian did nothing for Hangman Page. Mechanically sound it may have been, but it was the wrong match at the wrong time for the AEW World Title contender, whose beatdown by Chris Jericho's hand was met with chants of "thank you Jericho!". Page's promotion had systematically failed to generate any kind of sympathy for him, leaving them with a massive catch-up job ahead of All Out.

The rebuild began on the Road to All Out's first episode, on which a p*ssed-off Hangman literally tore his own stitches out. This was excellent. Victimised and brutalised by an egomaniac with almost thrice his experience, Page must be changed by the Jericho programme. It must scar him, physically and mentally, and help him shift from the generic babyface persona he has played in the promotion thus far.

Regardless, this is only the start. The next few steps are even more important, lest All Out close with a heatless main event.
