6. Alexander Rusev
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bW2oN9FHAKs Few had heard of this Bulgarian former power-lifter before his debut at the Rumble last week. It's always a trial by fire for a new face to debut at the biggest match of the year. More often than not we are treated to Daniel Puder being destroyed by Eddie Guerrero, Chris Benoit and Hardcore Holly or Bo Dallas making a minor splash before being sent back to NXT. Now, obviously, Rusev wasn't on Raw last week but a promo did air on Smackdown so he is definitely coming. It'll be interesting to see how he's used. In terms of 'big men' status, he's not the tallest at only 6ft but he does weight 305lbs which means he can intimidate many put before him. Also, he had the key Rumble moment of being the guy thrown about by a gang of men, in this case Punk, Rollins, Kingston and Rhodes, thus setting up the idea that he is a heavy, brawling threat. He has a good look and at NXT, his relationship to Lana, his social ambassador, drew comparisons with Ivan Drago and his wife in Rocky IV. This unknown foreign threat theme could work well in the hyper-Americanised world of the WWE. After they dropped the ball with Vladimir Kozlov, the world is Rusev's oyster so here's hoping it works out for him.
