10 Big Mistakes WWE Can't Afford To Make With Survivor Series 2016

3. Skipping A Shield Reunion Spot

At this point, a full-on Shield reunion might be the only thing that saves Roman Reigns’ popularity. Reigns is right to be wary of Seth Rollins at the moment, but their recent coming together on Raw has the fans excited, and they teased a double-powerbomb spot in last week’s main event.

A full-on Shield revival obviously isn’t forthcoming with Dean Ambrose on SmackDown, but it’s clearly something that fans are pining for, even if it’s just a single moment. At Survivor Series, WWE have an excellent opportunity to pull it off, and the booking couldn’t be simpler. They’re on opposite sides of the divide, but Chris Jericho, Kevin Owens, and AJ Styles are antagonistic enough to make them band together. One triple powerbomb is all it takes, and the fans will lap it up.

This one will likely play on the brand vs. brand aspect stronger than the other two matches. These are, after all, some of the biggest stars in the company, and both top champions are involved. Shane McMahon’s inclusion is an outlier, but he’ll represent his brand proudly as Commissioner, and he’s usually good for the odd memorable spot or two.

The Shield reunion is the big one, though. There’ll likely be some development in both brands’ title feuds, and Braun Strowman will be given ample time to look like a monster, and there’ll likely be a couple of other talking points. All these will play second fiddle if Ambrose, Reigns, and Rollins get their big moment, however, and WWE would be daft not to pull the trigger.
