10 Big Mistakes WWE Can't Afford To Make With Survivor Series 2016

4. Forgetting The Women's History

The men’s 5-on-5 match is laced with ill will, but it can’t hold a candle to the women’s match in terms of history. This match is crammed with complicated interpersonal relationships, and with the match’s current composition, it promises excitement and insanity in equal measure.

On the Raw side, Charlotte and Sasha Banks have just polished-off one of 2016’s most heated feuds. Bayley’s rising as Charlotte’s next challenger, meanwhile, and all three have pre-existing heat from NXT. Then there’s Nia Jax, who decimated Bayley a few weeks ago, and his already destroyed Alicia Fox, the team’s fifth member.

For SmackDown, Becky Lynch and Alexa Bliss are polar opposites, as are Carmella and Nikki Bella. They loathe one another, and Naomi has had a few run-ins with Natalya, the team captain, lately. Their collective history doesn’t run as deep as Raw’s, but the hatred’s definitely there.

Furthermore, this’ll be the first time that the Four Horsewoman have stepped into the ring in a long time, and there’s a strong chance that Becky will wrestle Sasha, Charlotte, and Bayley for huge chunks of the match.

In short, there’s a lot going on in this one. It’s testament to the great work done throughout the Women’s Revolution, and WWE would do well to book a smart, well thought-out contest full of call-backs to previous interactions. By all means, let it end in shenanigans, but ignoring history and relegating this to “exhibition match” status would be a great disappointment.
