10 Big Questions From WWE Raw (21 Sept)

1. Was That Really The Ending?

A slight confession here - I hate "dragged down into hell" spots. They've been occasionally used as a melodramatic spectacle over the years, showing the terror a monster figure such as Kane or the Undertaker can inspire in vulnerable babyfaces and slimy heels alike. On the downside, they make absolutely no sense, especially in the PG era. It's very likely that Rollins will turn up on Smackdown (or next week's Raw, at the very latest) slightly shaken by the ordeal he suffered this Monday night. It'll be used to hype the video package for his inevitable clash with Kane at Hell In A Cell, but will have served absolutely no purpose beyond this. As if to emphasise the utter pointlessness of this segment, the WWE aired a Youtube video after Raw when off air, showing Seth fleeing the ring to "escape an eternity of fire". Are we supposed to believe Kane would have legitimately roasted Rollins alive, despite openly stating his desire to take the WWE Championship? It was an over-the-top, pointless gimmick, one which made very little sense in the context of the feud itself. On a positive note, things can only get better. Right...?
