10 Big Questions From WWE RAW (August 10)

1. Do False Cash-Ins Ruin The Real Thing?

Although Randy Orton's match against Seth Rollins didn't quite reach the standard set last week by the WWE Champion and Neville, it did manage to tease us with a title change just as last week's bout did. This time, however, it was Sheamus who prevented Orton from pinning Rollins after an RKO. Sheamus's subsequent attempt to cash-in his Money In The Bank briefcase and win the WWE World Heavyweight Championship himself was thwarted in turn by The Viper. This isn't the first time that WWE have done a false cash-in, and the question must be asked: Does it ruin the drama when it comes to a real cash-in? It's like the little boy who cried wolf. The next time Sheamus attempts a cash-in on TV (if he even gets the opportunity, with SummerSlam looming large) will anyone be drawn in enough to believe it might actually happen? It could be argued that this is exactly the way a heel with the briefcase should behave, by denying fans the excitement of a genuine cash-in. Still, surely WWE could think of more creative ways to remind us of the importance of the briefcase without teasing false cash-ins? It's unlikely that it'll happen, but it's not too late for the briefcase to be on the line at SummerSlam.

As a long-time WWE fan, I have always enjoyed watching men pretend to beat each other up while wearing spandex. Extra points for facepaint, none for tassels. I love all things sci-fi. If there's a 'Star' somewhere in the title, I'll probably dig it. I'm a huge football fan too. For my sins, I support Manchester United.
