The fact John Cena is content in a mid card mixed tag-team match on WWE's biggest show of the year shows just how much the poster boy's priorities have changed in recent times; once the franchise player across both major brands, the Cena of 2017 is a much different animal to the one fans have become accustomed to in previous years.

A record-equalling 16th World Title reign was secured at the Royal Rumble over AJ Styles, but Cena was then quickly booked to drop that WWE Championship to Bray Wyatt come Elimination Chamber when many expected him to headline WrestleMania as champ.

The burning question is not if WWE write a 17th title triumph for Cena, it's when.

Occupying the same space as legends like The Undertaker (i.e less dates and maintaining a special feel when he does pop in from time to time) must appeal to Cena; it shouldn't be forgotten that Cena has been running hard as WWE's focal point for well over a decade now, so much so that he's earned some down time.

WWE will have to weigh up whether or not they can afford to lose Cena's box office during the traditional post-'Mania slump.
