10 Big Questions WWE Faces After WrestleMania 33
5. How Do WWE Present Bray Wyatt As A Long-Term Champion?
Bray Wyatt was put over strongly at Elimination Chamber by pinning both AJ Styles and John Cena with his Sister Abigail finishing move, and both momentous pins subsequently led him to the WWE Title. This is vindication for Wyatt; after years of being booked haphazardly, the cult-like leader has been written to stand on his own merits and win the most prestigious title available in the company.
Now, WWE must focus on how they can turn Bray's natural mystique into tangible evidence that he's capable of being a long-term champion on SmackDown.
Looking back to the template used for JBL (bizarrely) in 2004-2005 may be the secret, because the Texan cowboy was booked so strongly as a heel for so long that people couldn't fail to take him seriously. It's that kind of sustained faith from the writing team that Bray Wyatt sorely needs.
Of course, he'll also have to come out of WrestleMania as champ for that to work; should he lose to Randy Orton at 'Mania, the topsy turvy career of Wyatt will continue, and that won't do him (or WWE post-WrestleMania) any good.
