10 Big Talking Points From WWE Raw (July 11)

Early in June, the wrestling and mixed martial arts worlds were stunned by the news that Brock Lesnar would be making his return to legitimate competition at UFC 200. WWE.com covered the earth-shattering announcement, all while reminding fans that Lesnar would still be competing at SummerSlam.

Then, that was it. For the next month-plus, there was absolutely no mention of Lesnar's UFC fight - or even Lesnar himself. Analysts were very curious as to whether the fight would get mentioned on the July 4 Raw (the last one before UFC 200), but there was no reference made to it whatsoever.

On Saturday, Lesnar stepped into the Octagon for the first time in five years, and he emerged victorious. He scored a dominant victory over Mark Hunt, one of the most feared strikers in the entire sport.

On Raw, the company did an about-face. There was no longer any need to worry about Brock having his drawing power hurt, nor was there the issue of promoting a rival company's upcoming event. With that in mind, the company talked about Brock's win, showing video stills from the fight and a clip from the press conference. They also mentioned "The Beast" every chance they got.

Even for wrestling, it felt disingenuous.
