10 Big Talking Points From WWE Raw (July 11)
4. The Polarizing AJ Styles
Karl Anderson and Doc Gallows aren't currently being used to their full potential, but it's got to be pretty good to be AJ Styles. For years, fans wondered if "The Phenomenal One" could make it in WWE, and his 2016 arrival has shown that the answer is a resounding yes. Styles was originally meant to be a midcarder, but his talent and popularity earned him a spot in the main event.
That popularity is only growing, giving Styles some of the best reactions on the main roster. During the Enzo and Big Cass versus The Club tag team match, Styles was at ringside, but he was the star. The ultra-hot Detroit crowd chanted "Let's go AJ!/AJ Sucks!" like he was John Cena. As Styles is a heel, a mixed reaction that loud is pretty impressive.
It's clear that if things continue the way they've been going, Styles is going to be WWE's unquestioned MVP in 2016. Let's hope that the skill he shows and the reaction he gets convinces the company's decision-makers that he deserves a run with one of the world championships.
