10 Big Talking Points From WWE Raw (July 4)
4. Old Flames Revisited
Each and every week, a former General Manager has been appearing on Raw to make a pitch to be rehired as Smackdown's authority figure. This week, the company hyped that a former Smackdown GM would be on the show, and given that Paul Heyman was busy and Kurt Angle isn't coming back to WWE, that narrowed it down to Vickie Guerrero or Booker T.
It was Guerrero who appeared, shrieking and screaming for the WWE Universe to make their voices heard and support her as Smackdown COO (that's the official title). She was eventually led off by security and taken out of the building. Outside, she came across Dolph Ziggler, who told the security guard that he had never seen her before.
This, of course, was a nod to the fact that Ziggler and Guerrero were a unit on television for years, both as a manager and client and as a romantic couple. In fact, one could argue that Guerrero got Ziggler over just as much as his amazing performances did.
It was a nice wink to see Vickie and Dolph on screen together, and a funny cherry on the cake of their relationship.
