10 Big Talking Points From WWE Raw (June 27)

7. The Chemistry Is Still There

From a booking standpoint, 2015 was one of the worst years in WWE history. Champion Seth Rollins was undermined at every turn, Roman Reigns was pushed despite fan antipathy, and tons of other bad decisions made watching Raw a true chore.

That said, the in-ring action in the company was strong - Rollins's PPV matches were great, and John Cena's U.S. Championship open challenge meant a guaranteed great TV match each and every week. In fact, Rollins and Cena were the company's MVPs, so it should be no surprise that their work against each other was so strong. They were part of a Triple Threat match with Brock Lesnar at the Royal Rumble that was an instant classic, then later in the year, they had a trilogy of amazing matches on major shows - first SummerSlam, then Night of Champions, and finally the MSG WWE Network special.

Thankfully, their chemistry didn't change. Cena and Rollins clashed in what was each man's first Raw match since returning from injury, and it was a great one. While not quite PPV level, it certainly proved that both guys are 100% and easily capable of crafting an instantly-exciting TV match. Hopefully there'll be another one soon.
