10 Big WWE Face/Heel That Must Happen In 2018

5. Heel: Dean Ambrose

The Shield's reunion is bound to end in tears.

Seth Rollins and Dean Ambrose already feel like Roman Reigns' supporting cast, and with the 'Big Dog' (ugh...) set to meet Brock Lesnar at WrestleMania 34, the former Raw Tag Team Champions will be left on their own. A money-making singles match fits the bill, and always seemed a likely conclusion to their story. Their reunion started tenuously, and WWE rarely take their time with stories like this, so it's perfectly conceivable that we'll see one of Rollins and Ambrose betray the other in early 2018.

'The Lunatic Fringe' is the best choice. We already know Rollins is a tremendous s***-eating heel, but Dean, while popular, gets tedious as a babyface. Lame prop comedy and forced 'unstable' mannerisms kill his credibility on that side of the alignment scale, but going heel would assuage these problems, allowing him to become the Brian Pillman-esque powder keg he was born to play.

Ambrose hasn't worked full heel since The Shield turned face in 2014: an elongated villainous singles run might be the tonic he needs to become a viable main event contender again.
