10 Big WWE Face/Heel That Must Happen In 2018

4. Face: Rusev

Rusev is comfortably the PG Era's most misused wrestler.

A bull of a competitor, he has improved immeasurably from his green early days, and now sits among WWE's upper echelon of in-ring workers. He's an underrated seller, a tremendous athlete, and his offensive manoeuvres are smooth, impactful, and never mistimed. On top of this, he's quietly one of the most charismatic wrestlers in the company. Rusev is endlessly entertaining, and it's for this reason that we'd love to see him get a lengthy babyface run, despite proving himself as an effective heel over the years.

It's clear that 'The Bulgarian Brute' is never going to be anything more than a jobber to the stars with his current alignment, and while turning face wouldn't necessarily cure all that ails him, it'd at least help him build a bigger following.

Rusev is already an internet darling. Focusing on his sublime entertainment skills as a babyface would allow him to connect with a wider audience, thus justifying a stronger push. Besides, watching him bantering half the roster off is already a blast as a heel: imagine how much fun could be had if he shifted his crosshairs to SmackDown's villains.
