The Road to WrestleMania 34 was a tedious march towards what everyone assumed would be Roman Reigns' ultimate 'Show Of Shows' coronation. It was a victory years in the making, and while WWE had done well to build Brock Lesnar up as an enemy of the company and the audience, that 'The Big Dog' would leave 'Mania with the belt and an iron grip on WWE's main event scene was considered a certainty.

It didn't happen, and a different kind of subversion is on the way this April.

Lesnar's recent performers against Daniel Bryan and Finn Balor have restored some of his goodwill, but Seth Rollins will be a heavy favourite in New York. People love him. They want to see him become 'The Guy,' and they'll be desperate for his WrestleMania victory, to the extent that they're setting themselves up for immense disappointment should Lesnar defeat him on 7 April.

The possibility that Vince McMahon will reach his biggest show of the year and decide that the smaller Rollins isn't his guy is strong. It can't be ruled out, and while fans should look forward to the match, expecting a grand coronation is extremely dangerous.
