10 Big WWE Returns That Could Happen In 2018

Speculation that Batista is imminently set for a WWE return will probably never completely go away. It's just impossible to shake the feeling that the Animal has a bit of unfinished business in the wrestling ring after such a disappointing run last time out in 2014.

If it's going to happen at all, then it really needs to be in the next couple of years. Big Dave is pushing 50, and though he clearly keeps himself in excellent shape - they don't cast just anyone in the role of Bond villain - there will come a time when he's simply unable to compete.

WrestleMania seems unlikely. We'd probably have heard one or two noises by now, and in any event, potential opponents like Triple H and Randy Orton are either already tied up in existing storylines, or (so we're told) set for a prolonged break.

That isn't to say that a run late in the year, similar to Goldberg's return in 2016, is totally off the cards though. This could actually be a good way of ensuring that things don't fall flat this time - i.e. removing some of the pressure associated with the first three months of the wrestling calendar.
