10 Big WWE Returns That Could Happen In 2022

9. X-Pac

The Fiend is back
WWE

It has been two-and-a-half years since Sean 'X-Pac' Waltman last put on a pair of wrestling boots and went to work, but the 49-year-old has spent much of 2021 eyeing a comeback.

April saw him tell SI that he "didn't leave [wrestling] on my own terms." Five months later, he spoke on the possibility of entering the 2022 Royal Rumble, saying that while he wasn't specifically working towards it as a goal, he was targeting January for a potential wrestling comeback (h/t Wrestling Inc.).

When Waltman does return, he would like WWE to host him.

Inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame as a New World Order and D-Generation X member, X-Pac remains in the company's good graces. He has countless friends in the company from previous tenures there, including Triple H, and if the promotion thinks they can find a nostalgic comeback spot for him, they'd likely be as keen on Waltman as Waltman remains on them.

Having previously stated that he would only ever retire for special occasions, a Rumble spot could fit the bill.
