10 Big WWE Returns That Could Happen In 2022

7. The Undertaker

The Fiend is back
WWE

The Undertaker was given a song-and-dance retirement ceremony at Survivor Series 2020, Paul Bearer hologram and all, finally drawing the curtain on his 33 years as a wrestler.

... nah.

Wrestling retirements are as permanent as henna tattoos. It is wise to treat these things with cynicism in a world where a bumper Saudi Arabian payday persuaded even Shawn Michaels, the one retirement we were supposed to believe in, to go back on his word in the name of fattening his wallet.

No wrestler who is physically able to get a doctor's clearance can ever be ruled out of the comeback race. Let's not forget that Tully Blanchard, 67, worked his first match in 14 years this March.

Undertaker has thus far stayed true to his word, having gone out on a ten-bell Survivor Series salute. He hasn't made a single televised appearance since then. Still, given the constant rumblings coming out of his camp, even in "retirement", who would rule out the possibility of him returning before a live crowd? Considering his ceremony played out in the soulless ThunderDome, the itch is likely there.

Whether he wrestles or not.
