10 Big WWE Reveals Nobody Honestly Cared About
9. Savio Vega Joins DX
Back in 1998, the then WWF was promoting a huge 8-man tag team match for it's No Way Out of Texas: In Your House PPV consisting of 'Stone Cold' Steve Austin, Cactus Jack, Owen Hart and Chainsaw Charlie on one side of the ring and the newly formed DX and New Age Outlaws alliance on the other.
DX leader Shawn Michaels was due to wrestle 'Stone Cold' at the upcoming WrestleMania event, but was nursing a rather serious back injury, and so the decision was made to protect him as much as possible on the lead up to that match. This meant removing him from pretty much any and all non-essential in-ring segments including this show.
To make up for cancelling HBK, McMahon promised fans a suitable replacement, really stirring the pot as to what suitable replacement they would find to replace the reigning world champion. After days of speculation the moment of truth arrived, as Los Boricuos era Savio Vega made his unexpected return to the main event scene, albeit for one night only.
