3. Fake Razor Ramon And Diesel

When Jim Ross announced that both Scott Hall and Kevin Nash were returning to the WWE, just weeks after departing for WCW and forming the NWO, nobody could quite believe their ears. Had Vince McMahon done the unthinkable and lured his former top stars back into the fold with the promise of more money?

Any interest quickly turned to apathy when on a September 1996 episode of Raw, the so-called Razor Ramon and Diesel reveal turned out to be two relative nobodies playing dress up and mimicking their namesakes, all in the name of turning good old JR heel.

The fake Razor and Diesel, portrayed by Rick Bognar and Glenn Jacobs, would only be a focal point of WWE television for a few weeks before management realised what a massive misstep the whole endeavour had been, quickly jobbing the mimics out and sending them packing. Only Jacobs would ever step foot inside a WWE ring again, and we all know how that worked out.
