10 Biggest Booking Mistakes Of Roman Reigns' WWE Career
3. Not Getting More Singles Matches During His Shield Run
Along with being an incredibly entertaining faction in their own right, the great thing about The Shield was that it let Rollins, Reigns and Ambrose go through some of the growing pains of becoming a WWE superstar while still being able to fall back on their strength as a group. It was the perfect developmental vehicle.
So why was it that Roman Reigns - who apparently had been pinpointed as "The Guy" in The Shield since their formation - got so few opportunities to work major singles matches during that time? Reigns would occasionally work a singles match, but he never got enough high-profile encounters to prepare for his future role or - for that matter - enough singles work to really find his in-ring groove in matches of that style.
In retrospect, perhaps the US Title run that Dean Ambrose had should have gone to Roman Reigns. Given that Reigns was easily the most green of the group, he certainly could have used it more.
