1. Sin Cara
WWE.comOh my, where to begin? In early 2011, WWE seemingly landed a big acquisition when they signed one of the most popular Mexican wrestlers of the day, Mistico, to a contract. Dubbing Mistico "Sin Cara", the new superstar was set to take the WWE by storm with his high-flying offense and innovative style. He debuted and formed an alliance with Daniel Bryan but that's when the problems started. Cara participated in the Money in the Bank ladder match but was kayfabe injured as an excuse for his first violation of the Wellness Policy. During this time, another Sin Cara appeared and began acting heelish. This led to a weird angle where the "real" Sin Cara came back and challenged the heel Sin Cara (now dressed in black) to a match at the Hell in a Cell pay-per-view. However, in November, Cara injured his knee and was put on the shelf for six months. After appearing mostly in midcard matches on Raw following his return in August 2012, Cara again injured his knee and was forced out of action for over a month. The office was starting to get impatient with Cara's constant injuries and bad attitude and one final incident seemed to be the straw that broke the camel's back. During the August 19th episode of Raw, Cara faced off with Alberto Del Rio. Only a few moments into the match, Cara performed a dive to the floor and dislocated his ring finger when he hit Del Rio. It was a very minor "injury" to be sure, but Cara still called the referee over and had the match stopped because he was hurt. Del Rio was rightly pissed off (high school kids play sports with dislocated fingers) and delivered a stiff beatdown to Cara after the bell. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sGJyL1U3lQA Sin Cara, or at least Luis Urive (the man who was portraying Cara), was shipped back to Mexico and, in a confusing twist, he stated that he owned the Cara character and would still wear the mask in Mexico. Meanwhile, WWE placed Hunico underneath the Cara mask and he still occasionally appears on Raw.
