10 Biggest Busts In WWE History

9. Heidenreich

WWE.comWWE.comA former Super Bowl champion with the Washington Redskins, Jon Heidenreich turned to professional wrestling after his football career stalled out and he was signed to a WWE developmental contract. As with many mid-2000s signings, Heidenreich had a great look for a wrestler but his skills in the ring were less than stellar. Heidenreich made his debut on Raw in 2003 with a character who seemed to be controlled by someone called "Little Johnny". It was later revealed that Little Johnny was supposed to represent Heidenreich's inner child that still controlled him because he was born in a charity hospital. I know what you're thinking: Yes, people were actually paid to come up with this stuff. Heidenreich was sent back to OVW because he sucked in the ring and was brought back a year later to feud with the Undertaker. This time, he was given Paul Heyman as a manager and the gimmick of reading poetry to the crowd. After a planned Wrestlemania match with the Undertaker was nixed, Heidenreich formed an alliance with Snitsky over their mutual admiration for for poetry and miscarriages (no, seriously). https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aEK80zqUXWQ After a face turn led to him creepily "making friends" with the children in the audience, Heidenreich joined up with aging veteran Animal to form a new version of the Road Warriors. Of course, this version was a complete flop and Heidenreich was released in January 2006.
