4. Mabel
WWE.comWhat do you get when you try to turn a comedic, hugely fat, babyface tag wrestler into a monster heel? If you answered "an embarrassingly negative fan reaction and an almost equally embarrassing pay-per-view main event" then give yourself a gold star and a pat on the back. In 1994, Mabel debuted alongside his partner Mo and manager Oscar as Men On A Mission, guys from the ghetto who wanted to make a difference with kids today. Oscar unintelligibly rapped them down to the ring while they wore their ridiculous purple and yellow outfits that made Mabel look like Barney the Dinosaur. Mo was fat but Mabel was grotesquely obese and the result was a feud with the Quebecers over the tag titles that no one cared about. It seemed as though Men On A Mission should just be fired but Vince McMahon had bigger plans for the obese Mabel. After a heel turn for the tag team, Mabel inexplicably was booked to win the 1995 King of the Ring tournament. During his match with Savio Vega in the finals, the Philadelphia crowd was so angry with the booking/match that they chanted "ECW" so loud that McMahon acknowledged it on television. When Mabel won the match and sat on the throne, he was pelted with garbage from the crowd. Because Vince McMahon can't take a hint, Mabel was then pushed to the main event against Kevin Nash and headlined the Summerslam 1995 event in Pittsburgh. Their match was one of the worst in the company's history with the crowd killed completely dead by Mabel's lack of heel offense and selling ability. Kevin Nash certainly won't be on anyone's list of top in-ring competitors anytime soon, so their combination was a cure to insomnia. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8R4Fp8FGmiE Nash was actually seriously hurt by Mabel during the match, as Mabel had a reputation for not taking care of his opponents in the ring. This is mostly due to the fact that he couldn't control the 43,827 pounds of fat around his waist but Vince McMahon was close to firing Mabel after the event but instead chose to replace him as the top heel with Davey Boy Smith. Mabel then went on to break the Undertaker's orbital bone, putting him on the shelf for two months. That was the death knell for Mabel's WWF run and we was fired shortly thereafter. Surprisingly, Mabel returned to the WWF as a member of the Ministry of Darkness and managed to scrape a career out of it as Viscera. Mainly competing in lower card feuds, Viscera was renamed Big Daddy V for a final run in ECW until his death in February 2014.
