How many other Grammy Award winning rock stars who decided to own their own professional wrestling promotion are there in the world? In that sense, Billy Corgan is wholly unique, and it's a shame that he decided to depart the company he helped found, Resistance Pro Wrestling, in November last year. Lead singer of The Smashing Pumpkins, Corgan is no stranger to wrestling. First showing up on ECW television in 1998, the man has also appeared for Mexican company AAA, taking part in storylines. Attending WWE events seems to be almost religion for the rock star, who has never been shy about sharing exactly why he is so fond of the business. Resistance Pro continues to run monthly shows in and around Chicago to this day, but Corgan is no longer associated with the group. Intriguingly, the singer is friendly with ex-WWE star Christopher Nowinski, and ensured Resistance Pro followed guidelines set by Nowinski's Sports Legacy Institute.
