9. Chad Gable To Shorty G

Finally being given some space to prove precisely why he has long been one of WWE's best kept secrets, the Chad Gable now seen "SHOOOOOOOSH"ing those filing in to watch the latest edition of Monday Night Raw showcases a star in his absolute element.

Jumping back to the often dark times that were 2019-2020, though, and a worker who had once formed one half of arguably the most promising up-and-coming tag team the company had seen in an age found himself floundering in a gimmick that simply felt like a gross misuse of his undoubted talents.

Decked out in a vest and dorky basketball shorts, the re-christened Shorty G - because LOL he's not 7ft tall - was a far cry from the electric former Olympian who looked destined to walk a similar path to that of Kurt Angle. Routinely acting as the butt of the unfunny jokes, it looked as though Gable's time in the company was all but certain to come to an end when the next round of cuts reared their heads.

But, the opening of the Alpha Academy, recruiting of an Otis, and the burial of all mentions of Baron Corbin's lazy height digs at the one-of-a-kind technical master has thankfully salvaged a one-time doomed performer.
