10 Biggest Ever WrestleMania Screw-Jobs

4. Goldberg And Brock Lesnar Disrespect The Wrestling Business (WrestleMania 20)

Brock Lesnar is a prodigious athlete and a true spectacle in every sense of the word. He has a presence that few can match and an intensity that practically bursts off the screen (when he isn't holding a microphone). His initial run in WWE, between 2002 and 2004, saw him win the Undisputed WWE Championship only a handful of months after his debut. However, his star burnt incredibly brightly, but only for a short amount of time, and in the lead-up to his WrestleMania 20 bout with Goldberg in 2004, rumours emerged that he was leaving to pursue an NFL career. Goldberg, one of the biggest stars to have been produced by WCW in the 1990's, was also finishing up with WWE after Mania, and word of this leaked to the fans, who let Lesnar and Goldberg know exactly how they felt at the PPV by chanting 'You sold out' and 'Goodbye'. Both men should have been professional enough to put on a good match on their way out the door, but unfortunately it became clear that they had no intention of doing so. The match amounted to little more than posturing, stare-downs and the smallest amount of physical interaction they could get away with. The largest cheer of the match came at the end, when Steve Austin (making his second appearance on this list as the Special Guest Referee of a terrible match) delivered stone cold stunners to both men and celebrated in the ring with his customary Steveweisers. It was clear that Austin was just as angry as the fans at the disrespect that both competitors had shown the business.
