4. Rikishi

While many guys on this list were victims of slapdash booking, Rikishi actually arrived in the main event off the back of a seemingly well-plotted angle that saw him unveiled as the man who tried to run over Stone Cold Steve Austin.

The storyline wasn't without its faults though, the main one being that Rikishi couldn't offer up a satisfactory explanation for his trying to murder the Texas Rattlesnake. He basically just did it because he is The Rock's cousin.

It also meant turning him heel when much of what made him such a potential star in the first place was his role in perennial good guy group Too Cool, wherein he became popular for rubbing his buttocks in the face of opponents.

It just didn't fit, and because The Rock became so popular it meant that Rikishi, as a bad guy, could only ride on his coat-tails for so long. Pretty soon, he was back on his own, and back to being another directionless mid-carder.
