10 Biggest Fakeouts In WWE History

5. Edge & Lita On Everybody

A stupendous blending of fact with fiction before the company actually got around to making a story from it, Edge and Lita's cruel tease of Matt Hardy interrupting their grim Monday Night Raw wedding was brilliant in its brutality.

The entire plot was about 'V1' despite his total absence from television. Edge and Lita's nefarious relationship was at Kane's expense on air, but the entire watching world knew that Hardy was the actual wronged party - even those that didn't were informed on a weekly basis thanks to the "We Want Matt" chants.

As with all WWE weddings, there was ludicrous drama by the end, but long before Kane's head popped up from underneath the ring, Hardy himself objected for the biggest pop of the show!

Only he didn't, and Edge and Lita played a blinder.

As Jim Ross, Jerry Lawler and the crowd lost their sh*t, the brown stuff spread to the miles-wide grins of the heels as they realised they'd gotten one over on everybody. Edge's "I'll explain it all later at the reception" was a quality closing popper before 'The Big Red Machine" rose up and tore the whole thing down.
