This may have gone some 16 minutes but don't be confused; this was 100% a squash match. Whilst challenging for the WWE Championship, Brock Lesnar hit John Cena with 16 German suplexes and two F5's, and met next to no resistance from the until-then Super Cena. This was professional wrestling from our childhoods, where you would try to hit your friend with a big move straight away because that was the fun part.

The difference here was that Lesnar hit the F5 early and then simply toyed with Cena. We all realise how huge this was, but it still barely hits home. He toyed with JOHN CENA. Yes, the italics are necessary.

This was the professional wrestling equivalent of that video where the killer whales stalk a seal or whatever it was out some 40km, before getting bored and murdering it on the spot. This was a Phil Taylor darts match from the late 1990s. It was a massacre.

Even when Cena somehow managed to get the STF locked in, due in part to Lesnar's boredom, Brock just shrugged it off and continued his assault. When you add in the trash-talking throughout, you have the most entertaining squash in WWE history.

And it happened to John Cena.

Born in the middle of Wales in the middle of the 1980's, John can't quite remember when he started watching wrestling but he has a terrible feeling that Dino Bravo was involved. Now living in Prague, John spends most of his time trying to work out how Tomohiro Ishii still stands upright. His favourite wrestler of all time is Dean Malenko, but really it is Repo Man. He is the author of 'An Illustrated History of Slavic Misery', the best book about the Slavic people that you haven't yet read. You can get that and others from www.poshlostbooks.com.
