Has the NXT Title ever changed hands like this?

Karrion Kross ran at Bálor and hit him with a clubbing forearm to the back and neck. Then, he rolled the now ex-champ over for the pin and the gold. This isn't a complaint, but it is surprising that such a landmark title change happened off the back of such a...basic move.

NXT typically showcases flashy moves or sequences before anyone gets pinned, and that's just on the undercard. Hell, Adam Cole and Kyle O'Reilly almost killed one another in the main event before the former went down for the count. Here, Kross blasted Finn with one forearm strike and sent him packing.

It took a few seconds before your writer was able to digest what he'd just witnessed. Even Vic Joseph, Wade Barrett and Beth Phoenix seemed a little taken back on comms - the finish didn't look like a botched one, to be fair, and Bálor sold Kross' power like the total pro he is.
