9. That DDT Off The Apron
Ripley was almost turned to mush by this.
When Asuka grabbed Rhea in a DDT clutch on the apron, yours truly turned to his girlfriend and said, "There's no way she's hitting that". Then, seconds later, Ripley face-planted the mats around ringside and an aforementioned lady friend was questioning whether or not her man knows anything about wrestling.
This looked vicious. Rhea fell face-first from the ring to the floor, and Asuka crashed down with her. Both women hit hard; the sound of their bodies colliding with the mats was one of those sickening 'dead' thumps that's just...stressful to hear. It was like Ripley had been murdered live on pay-per-view.
Thankfully not.
These ladies must be proud of what they accomplished together on Sunday. The fact Asuka was able to DDT someone off the bloody ring apron and not break them in half speaks to her skill. Again, somebody get to work on that statue.
