10 Biggest Jocks In WWE History

5. JBL

Like Hardcore Holly, JBL has a reputation for being a bully. A notorious backstage ribber and hazer, Bradshaw was a guy who liked to drink beer, pick on people and, invariably, start fights. Timid wrestlers such as Matt Striker, The Blue Meanie and even poor referee Charles Robinson can attest to this. Layfield was, of course, a football star in college and worked as a coach prior to getting into the wrestling game. He was at one point drafted by the Los Angeles Raiders but was cut before the start of the season. JBL's first WWE gimmick as a cowboy/mountain man was not a hit. His second gimmick, as a member of the APA with fellow jock Ron Simmons, was. Bradshaw and Simmons would sit backstage, drink beer, gamble, belittle the cruiserweights and start bar fights, which is pretty much what Bradshaw did in real life, anyway. JBL's jock rep took a big hit in December 2008 when diminutive announcer Joey Styles knocked him out with a solitary punch. The former ECW man was tired of JBL's constant bullying and decided to shut him up with his fist.
