In May 2012 TNA flied a lawsuit against WWE and one of its new employees, Brian Wittenstein, stating that they had talked to wrestlers who were currently under contract to TNA. The back story to this was that Wittenstein, a former TNA employee who was let go by the company in the summer of 2011, had signed a 'non-disclosure agreement' which stated that he wouldn't discuss talent/wrestler contracts with any other company. Wittenstein was subsequently hired by WWE and, allegedly, tipped off WWE about some TNA contracts - including Ric Flair, who handed asked for a release from TNA in order to sign with TNA. Flair even went on to be inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame as part of The Horsemen while still under TNA contract, The resolution? WWE allowed Christian to appear at TNA Slammiversary 2012 (in a really pointless role) and, although they pulled back from signing any TNA talent, it is safe to say that although TNA dropped their viable lawsuit against WWE that Vince got the better end of the deal.
