10 Biggest Loudmouths In WWE History

4. The Rock

In a sense, The Rock must be considered the most unique name on this list. Hated by fans when playing the sugary-sweet Rocky Maivia character, the wrestler was forced to change in the Summer of 1997. When he did, The Rock never looked back. Almost overnight, Maivia transformed into one of the most charismatic men in wrestling history.

Speaking in third person and running down rivals with unparalleled verbal finesse, The Rock became so good at talking smack that fans began to cheer him in 1998. Organically, Rocky was turned into a top babyface. People had embraced him, so the switch in alignment made sense and didn't seem contrived.

Continuing to keep his character much the same, The Rock established shouting catchphrases like "If you smell what The Rock is cooking" and, "Finally, The Rock has come back to (insert city)." Both were easy for fans to get on board with, immediately creating a kinship between wrestler and audience.

Butting into conversations, The Rock also has to have the last word. This is a trait that still pops up when the character makes sporadic WWE appearances today.
