In order to be successful in WWE, you have to have a bit of an ego. You have to think highly enough of yourself that you believe people should pay to come watch you work. That’s not necessarily a bad thing. If you didn’t think you were great in some form, you likely wouldn’t last long in the business.

However, quite a few wrestlers eventually start to believe in their own hype. When they experience a bit of success, their egos continue to grow to the point where they morph into megalomaniacs whose sole focus in life is themselves, and the power they believe they hold. They no longer care about the overall good of the company that they work for, as they can’t see outside of themselves.

Eventually these people turn into huge headaches for management, and for the overall backstage vibe. These are the men and women who refused to put others over, refused to listen to reason and began to feel they were more important than the company itself. Shame on them. Shame!

Here are the 10 biggest megalomaniacs in WWE history.

As Rust Cohle from True Detective said "Life's barely long enough to get good at one thing. So be careful what you're good at." Sadly, I can't solve a murder like Rust...or change a tire, or even tie a tie. But I do know all the lyrics to Hulk Hogan's "Real American" theme song and can easily name every Natural Born Thriller from the dying days of WCW. I was once ranked 21st in the United States in Tetris...on the Playstation 3 version...for about a week. Follow along @AndrewSoucek and check out my podcast at wrestlingwithfriends.com
