10 Biggest Omissions From WWE Draft List 2016
5. Wildcards
Upon the announcement that we’d be having a Draft, rumours
soon began to float that the WWE would be looking to recruit some former stars.
The more ambitious reports cited the likes of Kurt Angle, Goldberg, Rey Mysterio, and Jeff Hardy as names that the company were reaching out to. Others were a little more reserved with their claims, listing MVP, Carlito, Stevie Richards, and Tajiri as potentially imminent signees.
I think I know which list I’d be more tempted to believe,
but either way there was no mention of any ex-names being eligible on the WWE’s recent Draft list. Again, that’s likely because they wouldn’t want to ruin the surprise
of this old beauty being played again.
But still, they didn’t necessarily have to spoil any surprises. It could have been cool to see some kind of unspecified “wildcard” option on the list—a lucky dip, if you like.
Then again, I’m not sure the
reveal of a Stevie Richards or an MVP would have gone down too well if some had
been expecting a Goldberg or a Kurt Angle…
