10 Biggest Oversellers In Wrestling

1. Mr. Perfect

In his book, no less a wrestler than Bret Hart is quick to praise the way Curt 'Mr. Perfect' Hennig sold for his opponents. Hennig was far from selfish inside the ring, something Hart found out first hand at SummerSlam 1991. Despite being in quite intense pain due to a back injury, Perfect was keen to put Bret over in a big way in front of a Madison Square Garden crowd. Earlier at WrestleMania VI, Perfect sold like crazy for Brutus 'The Barber' Beefcake. Within seconds of the bout beginning, he was flying over the top rope following a punch from the babyface. Later, he also literally performed a back flip to land on his head after Beefcake had kicked his legs out from underneath him. Hennig was a direct influence on performers like Dolph Ziggler, a man who can be found exhibiting many of the same selling techniques as Mr. Perfect. Even when his career was more limited, Hennig still did his best to thump around the ring. One of his most famous oversells was to receive an Irish Whip into the corner and then dramatically front flip out as if the impact had been too powerful.
