10 Biggest Overselling In Wrestling

10. Paul London At The 2005 Royal Rumble

Paul London was a tremendous athlete in WWE in the mid-2000s when he competed as a singles wrestler as well as a tag team partner with Brian Kendrick. They were an exciting young team that the crowd really liked because of how athletic they were. Since London was a good athlete, he tried to show off during a Royal Rumble match. It was the 2005 Royal Rumble (facing for Vince McMahon tearing his quads) with London battling Gene Snitsky by the ropes. He was placed on the apron by Snitsky, but London was trying to fight him off. London hit him in the face with a forearm shot, then Snitsky shoved him back. Snitsky missed a left handed clothesline due to London ducking underneath it, but then London ran right into a right handed clothesline. As Snitsky hit the clothesline, London did flip off the apron, tucked his down and then landed on his chest on the floor below. It was one of the most impressive bumps in Royal Rumble history. With that said, it was still an example of overselling.
Normally if a guy takes a move like that they would just fall off the apron and get eliminated. He went to a whole other level by doing a flip and landing on his stomach.
