10 Biggest Power Trips In WWE History

10. Randy Orton Ruins Kofi Kingston's Push

Today, Kofi Kingston is finally regaining some momentum. As part of The New Day, the Ghanaian feels more relevant than he has for the past 5 years, Many of his problems can be directly traced back to his aborted push in late-2009. That year, Kofi had moved away from the Jamaican characteristics that had previously been such a huge part of his overall presentation. There was a reason for that, the creative team wanted to push him and make Kofi more of a serious character. Sitting alongside this evolution, WWE planned to program Kingston with Randy Orton, an established headliner at the top of the card. There was only one problem, Orton's notorious temper got the best of him, and it ruined Kofi's push. During one bout on Monday Night Raw, Randy nailed Kingston with his trademark punt to the head. Returning to his feet, Kingston infuriated Orton, leading to him infamously shouting 'Stupid!' at his foe on live television. Backstage, Randy Orton complained that Kingston was ill-prepared for a top line push. Later in interviews, Kofi refused to be drawn into slating Orton, but did say this was a case of, "Randy being Randy".
