10 Biggest Questions Coming Out Of WWE WrestleMania 34
2. Is John Cena OK?
Asuka's defeat may have been bruising, but she's got nothing on John Cena. After weeks of smack-talking, WWE's (former?) franchise player was beaten inside three minutes, so marking the second most humiliating defeat of his glittering career (he wasn't suplexed to Germany in this one).
How he reacts to this over upcoming episodes of Raw is going to be super interesting. Back in 2009, defeat to The Deadman caused Shawn Michaels to lapse into what basically amounted to a mid-life crisis - and he went half an hour in the ring with him.
Big Match John, you would presume, is made of stronger stuff than that, but where can he realistically go from this? You've no right challenging for the Universal Championship after being so comprehensively squashed. A feud with Elias maybe?
Some fans online have even gone so far as to posit that Cena could use his next WWE appearance to announce that he will be calling time on his career in the ring. That seems premature, however, and last night probably wasn't the appropriate way for such an era-defining figure to bow out.
