10 Biggest Reasons AJ Lee Quit WWE

9. Going Out On Top

The timing of AJ Lee's exit is actually pretty good for her character and legacy. So many divas and wrestlers are forced to exit the business in humiliating fashion. Indeed, one of AJ's role models was Lita. Yet when Lita left WWE in 2006, she was scripted as a slut and villain. WWE actively encouraged the fans to chant derogatory slurs at the exit bound diva. AJ wisely knew that sticking around for too long would only see the same sort of demonisation. She'd already been portrayed as a mentally unstable psychopath. But for the last month, she's been pushed as a babyface and subsequently featured as a positive character. That's the kind of run you want to bow out on. With a submission victory over Nikki Bella at WrestleMania 31, AJ knew it was never going to get any better than that. Nikki was AJ's rival both on screen and off screen. The victory had to have felt good. It wasn't a bad way to go out, with 70,000 plus people cheering her to victory at WrestleMania.
