10 Biggest Reasons AJ Lee Quit WWE

8. Screw The Company Over

It was obvious that AJ held resentment towards the WWE. She disliked how the diva division was operated, making her feelings abundantly clear in shoot promos like the Total Divas pipe bomb and recent Slammy Diva Of The Year acceptance speech. The biggest frustration was lack of wrestling and too much focus on superficial aspects of the divas. Clearly, retirement has been on her mind for some time, as the Slammy acceptance speech even referenced the fact that she hoped an NXT wrestler would win next year. She was perhaps waiting for the opportune time to quit, biding her time to stick one back at the company. That time was WrestleMania 31. The company invested a big win in her, then she threw it back in their faces just a few days later and retired. It was like she was saying "thanks but no thanks" after years of seeing the divas division overlooked.
