10 Biggest Regrets From Goldberg's WWE Career
1. The Undertaker, Super Showdown 2019
Two legends, icons of a bygone era, survivors of the Monday Night Wars. In a world of rematches and repetitive, nullifying 50/50 booking these guys had never faced each other in the ring. Finally, at Super Showdown they met and disproved the old adage “better late than never.”
Concussed early on, or perhaps even before the match thanks to his pre-match ritual of head butting lockers, “Da Man” was in no fit state to continue but both men stuck to the plan. The action was slow and botchy, including ‘Taker nearly dropping Bill on his head with a low tombstone. Everything culminated in a terrifying jackhammer attempt.
For all the schlocky horror attached to the character over the years, this might be the scariest Undertaker moment, a dream match turned nightmare as fans worried Goldberg was about to kill the Deadman in front of their eyes. The Chokeslam finish was embarrassing in its weak delivery but at least we could all breathe easy again.
This match haunts both competitors to this day. Both men have expressed their regrets over this disaster of a wrestling match. Worse still, neither one really had it left in them to produce a worthy retirement match to help erase the memories of this Saudi shambles.
