10 Biggest Secret GENIUSES In Modern Wrestling

2. Bayley

A wrestler who seems doomed to occupy that underrated slot in WWE’s women’s division, Bayley has been mucked around something fierce by weird booking, seldom more so than over the past year. And yet, you’ll rarely find a wrestler who can make more with less than the Role Model.

The finest example of this is WWE’s pandemic era. While some performers struggled - understandably - in the eerie empty arenas, Bayley stepped up and then some. She more than anyone understood the importance of filling the crowdless silence, and would harp on constantly. Bickering with Michael Cole or sledging her opponent, her chatter always relevant and on-brand.

As heel or babyface, she’s as good at anyone in the company as making a rival look the business, from Asuka’s rag-dolling of the then-hugger to bouts that have elevated and solidified Sasha Banks and Bianca Belair as the roster’s top women.

Ultimately it may be Bayley’s all-rounder status that keeps her from being truly appreciated, but she’ll be massively missed when she’s gone. Were another company to offer her a spot at the top of the tree, it’d be a call worth taking.
