10 Biggest Shock Signings AEW Could Make From The WWE Roster

8. Edge

Edge was approached by AEW before his miraculous WWE comeback but he wanted to go back to where he made his name and forged his legacy. Since then he’s seemed perfectly happy to soak up the crowd reactions and work solid-to-great matches against the likes of Randy Orton and Seth Rollins.

For the last few weeks, he’s even been able to work alongside his wife Beth Phoenix (something they seem to enjoy more than some of the fans). As exciting as it would be to see an Edge/Omega match graphic, “The Ultimate Opportunist” seems to be relishing this improbable second phase of his career.

Even if Edge did have his head turned by potential dream matches or the prospect of hanging out with his old mucker Christian, Vince wouldn’t let him go lightly. You could bet WWE would do everything they could to hold onto him.

It would be churlish of anyone to want Edge to leave WWE when he seems so content. That said, if he did show up in AEW, the pop would only be matched by the one he got at his 2020 Royal Rumble return.
